The PSNC has released today some news regarding Pharmacy Payments from April 18 onwards. In a nutshell the good news is no further cuts will be made and the current payments will be held for now. They have agreed these interim arrangements whilst negotiations for 2018/19 are made which are yet to start fully.
An update regard QP has been issued too. A claim will need to be made on 29th June 2018. The scheme will have some small changes however ultimately it will remain the same. Importantly, where you have fallen behind on maintaining the various elements then you will need to be step
up quickly.
The team will review all the documents and guidance fully and as before will build up full plans and support you as needed to secure maximum payments worth £3200 to be paid in Sept 18 per pharmacy. We will plan a face to face event soon to help members too. Watch this space.
In the meantime please ensure the following are are updated and progressed as per the previous standards
- Near Miss logs, errors and alerts
are recorded
- Monthly Written Patient Safety Reports
- Summary Care Record access is good - new data will be available soon we will share it once we get it with the new targets
- Shared NHSmail is actively used
- Asthma checks are maintained
So in short, not the best news however not the worst. I know the PharmaPlus team will help everyone navigate this storm. If you need any further support sooner please contact the office.
