NPA Media Training Event
Can you Handle the Media???
The NPA will be hosting a free webinar on 18 May at 7:30pm entitled Managing the Media – practical training for pharmacists. The webinar is open to members and non members.

This webinar is part of a programme of media training designed to achieve a step change in media consciousness and confidence within the independent sector.

The training will ensure that pharmacists are well placed to advocate for community pharmacy in newspapers, radio and TV.  It will also help you understand how to handle publicly at moments of crisis in your pharmacy (such as a harmful dispensing error) and how to use the media to promote your own pharmacy services.

This webinar will be led by an experienced journalist who has worked in high profile programmes such as the Today Programme, and across BBC local radio.

The training will also help to ensure maximum engagement in the NPA’s public awareness raising activities in 2017/18.

Participation in this webinar increases your chance of being selected to benefit from one-to-one broadcast interview coaching, which is the next phase of our media training programme.

Pharmacists and their teams should not be so bashful about the wonderful support they give day in and day out.  Of course, good PR is not your prime motivation for great patient care, but there is no shame in talking publicly about it.  In fact, it is a necessity to be loud and proud in order to be heard above the noise of everyday news, current affairs and trivia.
