Transitional Payments Linked to Services

Dear Member,

From 1st October there will be changes to the transitional payments you receive. The payments previously have solely been based on dispensing volume alone. However, from October they will be split into 2 categories – dispensing volume and service delivery.

To be eligible for the service delivery element, you must have claimed for at least 1 New Medicine Service (NMS) and be actively registered for the Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS) in the previous month.

This means from September 2021 onwards you must claim monthly for NMS’ and be actively registered to provide CPCS in order to qualify for the full payment monthly from October. We are expecting a significant proportion of the payments to go to the service delivery part but are waiting for full details to be published in the October drug tariff.

For now it is important members action these two points:

1.   If you are not already registered for CPCS register in September 2021
      o   Logon to MYS and register to provide the CPCS.

2.   Complete and claim for at least 1 NMS in September 2021

The current transitional payment structure which ends this month are as follows:

12,501 – 19,167	£1,598
