Claiming your COVID Costs Payments

Dear Member,

If you have been following our staged plan you should have collected all your data by now.

Contractors can claim for specific categories of COVID-19 related costs incurred between 1st March 2020 and 31st March 2021 for the delivery of NHS pharmaceutical services.

We strongly advise members to submit their claim on Friday 13th August 2021 as there is unlikely to be support available over the weekend – DEADLINE 15th August at 11.59pm

How to Claim:

1.   Review our email from 5th August and ensure you have completed all the steps outlined
2.   Download the NHSBSA claim form (SEE ATTACHED – THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS THE DATA GATHERING SPREADSHEET FROM PHARMAPLUS THIS MUST NOT BE SUBMITTED)
3.   Tab 1 – Declaration
a.   Tick the yellow box
b.   Complete your first name, surname & email address
4.   Tab 2 – Category 1 to 3
a.   Complete your pharmacy name & ODS code (complete this on EACH ROW)
b.   Calculate the TOTAL cost from each of the 4 categories and input ONE total figure for each section
c.   Detail what type of evidence you have to support your claim – DO NOT SUBMIT THIS EVIDENCE
d.   For IT and Communication you MUST give a description of the cost for all other categories this is optional
5.   Tab 3 - Notified closures for infection control purposes (maximum 14 days).
a.   Complete your ODS code, dates you were closed, NHS authority you informed and reason
b.   The total for this will be determined by NHS England
6.   Attach your NHSBSA Spreadsheet ONLY and email it to - nhsbsa.covidclaims@nhs.net
7.   Keep the confirmation email your receive as evidence of your submission.
8.   Ensure you have your electronic evidence pack ready to submit in case you are contacted for a verification check – You will only be given 5 days notice.

Please DO NOT submit your data gathering spreadsheets – this is DIFFERENT to the CLAIM FORM!

The 4 claimable areas are:
1. Additional staff costs due to COVID-19;
2. Costs incurred to make premises COVID-19 secure;
3. IT and communication costs to support home working and virtual patient contact; and
4. Notified closures for infection control purposes (maximum 14 days).

Please Note: Some costs you capture may not be covid related and are therefore not claimable. You must ensure you are able to justify ALL your claims should you be subject to any post payment verification checks.
