Useful information for registering your trainee pharmacists:
• If details are uncertain e.g. the named designated supervisor/s may change in the next 4 weeks then please hold off completing the application until this information is confirmed. This will avoid having to complete a Change of Training Details before they have even started and avoid unnecessary details with processing extra paperwork.
• Avoid printing the training record until they are certain all the details are correct as they can only print this once before having to request one from the GPhC which they will have to wait up to 28 days for.
• If they are starting on 1st August – the system now only permits them to input 364 days so the finish date would be 30th July. Please liaise with them about their start date as 1st August is a Sunday.
• Can now include up to three designated supervisors if known at this stage otherwise they can notify via a Joint Tutoring form at a later date. There is no rush for this as long as it is before the 13 week appraisal stage.
• Please ask your trainee to find out when their University is holding their exam board as if it is later than 12th July, you may need to discuss a later start date with them. Please encourage trainee’s not to put in a start date that is earlier than the University exam board. Start and finish dates cannot be changed without paperwork being completed and this will take
time and can cause delays.
• Please ensure they know what programme they are following and pick the correct one e.g. single sector site or multi-sector , split, joint or integral programme – they will need to select the correct one as again this can cause delays if they put the wrong one in. Always use the postcode search to find the right site or programme.
