CPCS Claim Deadline 30th June 2021

Dear Member,

Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS) - Deadline Approaching: 30th June 2021 for the £300 engagement and set up payment for the GP CPCS.

For detail information please see Annex F of the CPCS service specification.

What you need to do:

1.   If you are the PCN Lead you should have engaged with the Clinical Director in your area to set up GP CPCS (please follow the guidance we have provided you with in the PharmaPlus training sessions)
2.   If you are not a PCN Lead – you should contact your PCN Lead/LPC to find out how they are rolling out GP CPCS in your area
3.   Staff training should take place on CPCS and GP referrals

  c.   RPS have a fantastic training programme – Click here to access
4.   Have a pathway ready to receive your referrals e.g. via NHS mail
5.   Once you have completed the above you are able to claim the £300 set up payment (deadline for completion of tasks is 30th June 2021)
6.   Claims are to be made via MYS – called GP Referral Pathway Declaration by 11.59pm on 5th July 2021
7.   You must keep evidence of all activities for post payment verification purposes.

The claim of £300 is important but providing the service itself is even more valuable. A pharmacy which sets this service up well can receive at least 10 referrals per week (£14 per consultation) plus additional fees from referrals to NHS / private services you provide and OTC sales. You could be making £600 per month in CPCS fees plus £1000 in additional fees from referrals to other services and OTC sales which helps to cover off the lost fees from MURs.

If you have yet to register to provide the CPCS service this can also be done via MYS.
