Dear
Member,
The PSNC
are encouraging contractors to take part in a Pharmacy Advice Audit. It is being done to help capture information about the reasons why people choose to visit community pharmacies. This will also help to capture information about GP teams referring patients to pharmacies for consultations informally, rather than via the agreed Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS) route. This data will allow the PSNC to quantify how may unfunded GP referrals are taking place, and it will tell them more
about the impact COVID-19 is having on pharmacy teams and the advice being sought form us. This will provide critical evidence for ongoing funding discussions with HM Government and the NHS.
WHEN:
- To be conducted on a single day THIS WEEK (W/C Monday 25th January)
AUDIT EXCLUSION CRITERIA:
- Where a product is requested by name, unless this leads to additional advice being provided beyond the safe use of the product
- Advice given relating to a prescription being dispensed
- Formal referrals from either NHS 111 or GP from NHS CPCS
