Dear Member,
You may or may not be aware that if you are conducting COVID testing in your pharmacy, you will need to be registered with UKAS to provide the service. UKAS and DHS have advised and have reiterated to us that:
- any organisation providing the Covid testing needs to be registered with the DHSC and UKAS.
- this testing covers Covid PCRs, as well as the rapid tests, and antibody testing.
We urge you to look at the requirements above and establish whether your pharmacy complies with the requirements. Your pharmacy is unlikely to be complying with the above measures because:
1) There is a hefty registration fee (about £2000).
2) There are several other requirements that you will need to comply with to be registered.
We are working with a partner organisation that has the accreditation that we have mentioned above. It means that you do not have to go through the laborious and expensive registration process with UKAS. You will be able to work with them under their umbrella.
Furthermore, we are looking to develop a pharmacy network with our partner who can deliver these tests. They will also refer patients to you, and you will get the training and information you need to develop the service further.
Please click on the following link to register your interest and we will be back to you shortly.
