PQS - Infection Prevention & Control & AMS

Dear Member,

So far in our PQS series we have provided the following:

Your suicide awareness and prevention training & action plan as per our email on 21^st October 2020 – this should now be completed
PCN Lead support via a video training session on 27^th October 2020 – This should be actioned now
Non-PCN Lead criteria as per our email sent on 4^th November 2020 - You should have actioned the steps taken in our email and contacted your PCN Lead

The next in our series is Infection Prevention & Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS)

ALL of the following tasks must be completed:

1	All non-registered pharmacy staff must complete the HEE infection prevention and control Level 1 e-learning and assessment	2 hours	Keep a copy of certificates on site Log on to the e-LfH home page and click on my activities to download your certificate
2	All registered pharmacy professionals (including locums) must have satisfactorily completed the HEE Infection Prevention and Control Level 2 e-learning and assessment	1 hour	Keep a copy of certificates on site Log on to the e-LfH home page and click on my activities to download your certificate
3	Team meeting with ALL team members documenting reflections and actions following training and amending SOPs and associated guidance where appropriate. Download template attached and carry out actions	1 hour	Download and complete the PharmaPlus template for infection prevention and control
4	ALL patient facing staff that provide advice on medicines or healthcare must have completed the PHE Antimicrobial Stewardship for Community Pharmacy e-learning and e-assessment	30 minutes	Keep a copy of certificates on site Log on to the e-LfH home page and click on my activities to download your certificate
5	AMS action plan – Download template attached and carry out actions Include details on how all pharmacy staff involved in the provision of self-care advice will incorporate the principles of AMS into self-care advice Reinforce messages around appropriate use of antibiotics Increasing update of vaccinations, including the flu vaccine	1 hour	AMS action plan Keep documented evidence that these actions have been implemented by the day of declaration
6	ALL patient facing staff that provide health advice, should have become Antibiotic Guardians	10 minutes	Keep a copy of the email sent to each team member
7	Have awareness of local antibiotic formulary You may be able to access this online alternatively contact your local LPC for a copy All staff to have read and have awareness of the formulary	-	Copies of formulary List of staff who have read through the formulary
8	MYS declaration data Keep a record of the number of staff who have completed each e-learning and assessment		Declaration
