The flu season is fast approaching. The PSNC and DH are currently in negotiation with what will be happening this year. Nothing has been set in stone. There are some things that you may want to be aware that we have managed to obtain from various resources that could give an indication on what is to come.
• Anyone who has not previously trained to undertake immunisations must undertake full training before commencing flu vaccination. How this can be done during the current lockdown is not yet confirmed.
• Anyone who has undertaken the vaccinations training before and is due to undertake face-to-face training this year it is likely that face-to-face training requirements will be relaxed for this provided you undertook actual vaccinations in the 19/20 season.
• It is likely that as at 1 September 2020, anyone who is due to undertake annual online refresher training, but has done so within the previous 18 months, does not have to do the training again for the 2020/21 season.
• There will be the requirement that all pharmacists must be familiar with the current documentation that is released each season.
