As we move towards our new financial year, I wanted to take this opportunity to write to you regarding PharmaPlus’ outlook on the coming year.
PharmaPlus supports you and your business in 3 main areas:
1. Professional support
2. Supplier deals and service development
3. Being your professional social group
Our service to you is funded by your annual subscription fee together with rebates from some of our suppliers. Over the past three years as pharmacy margins have been squeezed, so has the rebates we receive centrally. Critically, these rebates are only achieved when we buy as a ‘collective’, reaching group-wide seven-figure targets – which would be absolutely
impossible to achieve individually.
Particularly in the last few years, we have better-utilised these central rebates, by heavily subsidising a number of our services, in particular, the revenue-generating private clinical services. The new Pharmacy contract has also resulted in a greater ‘hand-holding support’ to all our members. Several organisations offer rebates; however, higher membership fees or drug prices
always fund these. We feel that our members are best served by having a low membership fee (unchanged for eight years) and transparent net costs. We are confident that every member gets back its membership fee multiple times over.
Our Monthly Tender service alone (used by over 30 members), has saved each member on average £100 - £200 per month. These members are enjoying £1,200 - £2,400 effective rebate a year which no other support group can match.
We regularly receive feedback from members who have been delighted with how our products and services as a support group have helped save them time, and they genuinely appreciate being part of the PharmaPlus family.
