Pharma Plus Mainline Wholesaler Surcharge Guide

Dear Member,

Over the past few months, many members have contacted us regarding the mainline wholesalers (Alliance Healthcare & AAH) distribution arrangements with manufactures.

The guidelines surrounding these arrangements are complex and members need to be vigilant when ordering certain lines from these suppliers in order to not get charged the following charges:

Fuel surcharge – Alliance Healthcare Customers Please Click Here & AAH Customers Please Click Here
Low Spend Surcharge (LSS) - Alliance Healthcare Customers Please Click Here not applicable for AAH Customers as this is combined with the fuel surcharge.
Returns Policy - Alliance Healthcare Customers Please Click Here & AAH Customers Please Click Here

There is no easy solution or quick fix.

Wholesalers are not going to back down regarding these, so we have created a guide that members can follow to reduce these charges.

Description of Agreement type:

Agency Solus: Mainly lines from Astellas Pharma Ltd & Pfizer.
Agency Dual with AAH: Lines that are only available from Alliance Healthcare & AAH and are NOT exempt from the fuel surcharge.
Solus: Line only available from Alliance Healthcare. If you order these lines in error you will be charged for returns
Dual with AAH: Lines only available from AAH & Alliance Healthcare & are NOT exempt from fuel surcharge and ordered in error.
Dual with Phoenix: Lines only available from Phoenix & Alliance Healthcare & are NOT exempt from fuel surcharge and ordered in error.
3+ RWA: Reduced Wholesaler Arrangements, with all three mainline wholesalers; AAH, Alliance Healthcare & Phoenix. These line are NOT exempt from any surcharge.

The spreadsheet has 3 tabs, members can filter the columns on the spreadsheet to see what lines do & no not attract the various surcharges.

We do understand that this is all very complicated and time consuming but this is the way the wholesalers have arranged these surcharges and members need to understand which lines are attracting which surcharges.
