Dear Member,
Applications to change your hours or to close on Easter Saturday, April 11th 2020 will need to be submitted not later than TODAY. This deadline is unlikely to be extended.
|
The only day between Friday, April 10th and Monday, April 13th when a pharmacy is required to open is Saturday, April 11th (if it usually opens on a Saturday) because this is not a Bank Holiday, nor a special day included in the Terms of Service.
Those pharmacies that open on Saturdays as supplementary hours and would like to close or amend their hours on Saturday, April 11th will need to notify NHS England giving at least 90 days’ notice, i.e. by Friday, January 10th 2020 or preferably earlier. A form is attached for this purpose and can be completed electronically and then emailed to england.lon-pharmacy@nhs.net or printed off, completed and posted to the address given on the form. Please remember to indicate if the change is to be temporary (for example, adjacent to bank holidays) or permanent. You don’t need permission to make this change to supplementary hours, but you must notify within the time limit.

If Saturday opening forms part of your core hours, you must apply (again giving at least 90 days’ notice) for permission to close. Previously, permission was often granted routinely. Now, evidence of changes to the needs of people in your area for pharmaceutical services from your pharmacy needs to be provided. Without this, your application and any subsequent appeal will likely be
rejected. Again, a form is attached and can be completed electronically and then emailed to england.lon-pharmacy@nhs.net c.c. england.lon-marketentry@nhs.net or printed off, completed and posted to the address given on the form. Please remember to indicate on the form if the change is to be temporary or
permanent.
