The Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS) launches on the 29th October 2019.
This service will replace NUMSAS and DMIRs as an Advance Service. To ensure continuity of these services register to provide CPCS by 29th October 2019.
If you set this service up before the 1st December you will be paid a £900 set up fee. Thereafter every completed referral will be paid at £14 per consultation plus reimbursement of dispensing stock where appropriate for emergency supplies, any fees you receive for services you refer onto such as EHC or minor
ailments, etc.
From April 2020 – GPs will refer directly to community pharmacy as they want to transfer 20 million GP appointments for minor illnesses using this service.
What you need to do to set up this service in your pharmacy:
- Read the service specification & toolkit
- Download the Standard Operating Procedure, read through, sign and add to your SOP folder
- Register to provide the service via MYS – to trigger the £900 payment – NOW
- You will receive a confirmation email – keep this safe
- Self assessment framework – to be completed by all pharmacists including locums
- Look out for the CPCS icon on Sonar or Pharmaoutcomes 1 week before the launch
- Claiming for the service will be via MYS – We will publish this once guidance has been released
