Dear Member,
RE: Important for all existing Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) members: Please read – risk of automatic extra charges for indemnity insurance.
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has introduced a new professional indemnity insurance policy for its members. This now sits alongside standard RPS membership and is added with an additional premium unless you actively opt out.
This change affects all existing RPS members, not just new ones. We at PPL are unaware
how many in our membership are also members of RPS so this message is to make those that are, to be aware of the introduction of these new indemnity policies and with it possible additional costs too.
It is very important that you check the letter or email from the RPS explaining this update. If you do not opt out, the insurance will be automatically added to your membership fee. This
could mean you end up with two indemnity policies and paying twice if you already hold cover with another provider.
To avoid this, please review your current indemnity arrangements and then decide:
- • If you want to keep your existing indemnity insurance, make sure you opt out
of the RPS policy.
- • If you prefer to use the new RPS insurance instead, you can cancel your other policy once you have confirmed that the RPS cover meets your needs.
Taking a moment to review this now will prevent unnecessary costs or duplicated cover. Please read the RPS communication
carefully and take the option that is right for your practice.
Regards,
PharmaPlus Ltd
