RE: 2025/26 Flu Vaccination – Adult Service & New 2-3 year Trial
Dear Member,
NHS England has
confirmed the 2025/26 Community Pharmacy Flu Vaccination Advanced Service for adults and, for the first time, a one-season trial service for children aged 2-3 years. Both begin this autumn and come with important deadlines.
Adult service (Advanced)
- Minor spec changes: Responsible Pharmacist in charge; off-site clinics need commissioner approval and RP oversight.
- New vaccine rules: aTIV (49→50 yrs), Q/TIV-HD (59→60 yrs), 18-64 cohort widened to carers/contacts.
- Go-live: 1 Sep 25 (pregnant women only), 1 Oct 25 (all other
adults).
- Fee still under ministerial review.
Children’s service (2-3 years trial, Advanced)
- Aim: raise uptake in this hard-to-reach age group.
- Vaccine: centrally supplied LAIV nasal spray.
- Payment: £9.58 per dose (outside CPCF global sum).
- Registration: via MYS 1–31 Aug 25 for stock arrival before the 1 Oct 25 start (late sign-up
possible but stock may be delayed).
- Please see attached a summary from the Childhood Flu Service (this is taken from the service spec).
