Dear Member,
We want to remind you of the ongoing changes to the Pharmacy First Service and its impact on incentive payments.
Key Points:
- The £1,000 monthly incentive payment (from April 2025) will only be available to pharmacies delivering Pharmacy First, Blood Pressure, and full Tier 1 & 2 Contraception Services while meeting Clinical Pathway
targets.
- The future of the Pharmacy First Service beyond March 2025 remains uncertain, with negotiations ongoing under the new Labour government.
- Possible service expansions could include conjunctivitis, adult ear infections, skin infections, and chest
infections.
- Stronger engagement requirements for GP surgeries with potential incentives/penalties may be introduced.
✅ What You Need to
Do:
🟢 Review your service delivery – ensure you are actively offering Pharmacy First, Blood Pressure, and Tier 1 & 2 Contraception Services.
🟠 Assess gaps – if you are not providing all required services, take steps to implement them.
🔵 Stay updated – we will provide further details once negotiations conclude.
Ensuring compliance now will help secure future incentive payments. Please take action as needed.
