RE: Drug tariff price change for Rivaroxaban tablets from the 1st of September 2024.
The
price of Rivaroxaban tablets will be changing from the 1st of September 2024 to a new lower price (To Be Confirmed) in Sept Drug Tariff.
The NHS has decided to make an early change outside the normal cycle of price reviews to the drug tariff price of Rivaroxaban tablets dispensed in September 2024. Currently, the drug tariff price is based on the branded product, Xalitrol, which is
typically around £50 per box.
From 1 September, any prescriptions generically prescribed as Rivaroxaban for all strengths will be priced on the standard generic prices which will be much lower. (£5-£15 TBC).
Every single box of Rivaroxaban tablets that is dispensed in August must be claimed
fully and sent off for payment to the NHSPSA in August to reduce losses. Any prescriptions which are submitted in September will be paid at a lower price, which could lead to £100’s of lower payments.
Please check through all prescriptions that are waiting to be dispensed, collected or delivered and ensure these are promptly issued to customers and claimed.
