Community Pharmacy England (CPE) needs your help to measure the increasing reliance on pharmacies. Financial and operational pressures continue to challenge our sector, and although the £645m recovery plan was a much-needed investment, it is not sufficient. We need accurate data to advocate for sustainable funding and support for our services.

Pharmacy Advice Audit Details:

    •    Launch Date: Week commencing June 3rd, 2024
    •    Duration: Any single day within two weeks
    •    Purpose: Record information about informal healthcare advice provided
    •    Importance: Helps CPE measure unfunded care and supports our negotiations with the Government and NHS

Why Your Participation Matters:

    •    Previous audits during the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the critical role of community pharmacies, aiding CPE in securing funding and the establishment of Pharmacy First.
    •    The data collected will be crucial in CPE’s upcoming campaigns and lobbying efforts, influencing MPs and national media coverage.

How the Audit Will Work:

    •    Pharmacies are asked to select just one day between June 3rd and 16th, 2024, to record data about patients seeking informal advice (outside of the Pharmacy First service).
    •    The audit has been designed to be straightforward, with full instructions in the guidance below.

How to Participate:

    1.    Mark the week of June 3rd for the audit.
    2.    Choose a single day within the two-week period to record data.
    3.    Follow the provided instructions to complete the audit.
    4.    Submit your data to strengthen CPE’s evidence for increased funding.
