Dear
Member
To ensure the highest standards in providing the flu service, please follow these crucial training steps:
1. Core Training with ECG
- We recommend ECG Training
for your core training needs, though it's not mandatory.
- Each pharmacy is entitled to one free face-to-face training session with ECG training. Please contact the PharmaPlus office for details.
- Face-face training needs to be completed periodically, and based on your own competence.
2. Annual update training
- Periodic refresher courses are essential. Stay updated with changes in practice and guidance. Utilize resources like the e-Learning for Healthcare for comprehensive training modules.
- Alternatively, you can use our discounted ECG training offer if required.
- Please contact the PharmaPlus office for details.
- Ensure that you also have the materials and training to deal with emergencies in the pharmacy.
3. PGD and
Specification
Ensure you read, understand, and sign the Patient Group Direction
(PGD) and the Service Specification. These documents provide the legal and operational framework for the flu service.
4. Declaration of Competence (DoC)
Complete
the Vaccination Services DoC on the CPPE website

7. Supervised Clinical Practice
New vaccinators should undertake supervised practice with an experienced registered practitioner for skill acquisition and application.
8. Off-site Provision
For off-site vaccinations, ensure you're compliant with requirements, including
having a valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate. Contact us at the PharmaPlus office if you need advice on how to make an application.
9. Documentation
Retain all training records, competency checklists, and certificates for verification and professional
revalidation.
10. Promotional Material:
Use materials from this link to promote the service to patients and local care providers.
Please ensure that all steps are followed diligently to maintain the quality and safety of the flu vaccination service. As always,
contact us at the office on info@pharmaplusltd.co.uk if you require further help of advice.
