Understanding PGDs and PSDs:
Patient Group Directions (PGDs): PGDs are written instructions that allow medicines to be supplied and administered to groups of patients without a prescription. They are typically used in situations where the treatment process is consistent across the patient group, offering a streamlined approach
to care.
Patient Specific Directions (PSDs): In contrast, PSDs are individualised instructions from a prescriber for a medicine to be supplied or administered to a named patient. PSDs are more flexible and can cater to unique patient needs, especially when a PGD isn't applicable or when a patient doesn't fit a particular
criterion.
Why the Shift to "PatientPro Directions"?
Given the limitations of PGDs in certain scenarios, our partnership with RxAdvisor introduces "PatientPro Directions" to fill this gap, ensuring bespoke care for each
patient.
