As part of the national agreement structure, pharmacies are required to participate in up to six health campaigns at the request of NHS England per year.

There will be a mandatory campaign in the new year running from 3rd January to 29th January on the topic of obesity, and how it can be targeted in the community. Obviously the new year will be a great time to concentrate on this area as people start new year resolutions on healthy eating and exercise.

1. The campaign can be used to support the PQS adult weight intervention scheme
2. You can use this campaign for other types of interventions related to obesity - cardiovascular, diabetes and so on
3. As it is the new year, this is an ideal opportunity to promote smoking cessation
4. You can also use it to promote your hypertension service and any paint of care testing you have e.g. cholesterol
5. If you provide phlebotomy services, you can use the service to do a whole range of blood testing - from eGFR, HbA1c and full lipid profiles
6. There are various PGDs and private schemes that you can use to support patients to help them lose weight
