As you may be aware a mandatory national audit for 2022/2023 has been agreed by PSNC and NHS England was announced on 14^th November 2022 focusing on Sodium Valproate.

The aim of this is to reduce any potential harm caused by taking valproate in pregnancy. 

This is a 6 week audit similar to that undertaken in 2019/2020 PQS and must be completed by 31^st March 2023. Failure to so would be a breach of contact and could result in an exclusion of new NHS services.

Fear not! We have already accounted for this piece of work in the Winter workload plan (involving PQS work) to be completed in Feb 2023. However, you are more than welcome to initiate this audit as and when you chose.
