Flu Vaccinations - Primary Care Staff

Dear Member,

Under the advanced flu vaccination service you are now able to vaccinate frontline staff employed by primary care contractors (community pharmacies, primary medical services, primary dental services and general ophthalmic services) this includes non-clinical staff who have direct involvement in the provision of NHS services and have face-to-face contact with patients.

What you need to do:

1. Download the PGD and national protocol and read and sign the updated documents.

2. If you have already vaccinated your staff by other means – it has been agreed you are able to claim for these.

3.   Data collection:
      a).   You must continue to record & upload the clinical data normally – e.g. via Sonar / Pharmaoutcomes.
      b).   Must also keep a manual record of the number of staff vaccinated in this cohort – Click here to download the template.
      c).   Report the figures for each of the 4 contractor groups into a NEW MYS module monthly (this has not been integrated into the existing flu module and is being recorded for data capture purposes and will not affect payment).
      d).   For payments – record these vaccinations under the ‘Frontline health and social care staff’ under the existing MYS flu vaccination module.
