Things to consider
• Even though there is no basic REQURIEMENT to have a vaccine, there are times when workers will need to be vaccinated. Some examples include community pharmacy workers who work closely with care homes or community pharmacies who are also registered with the CQC. Some
part-time pharmacists also work with GP practices, and they will be required to be vaccinated for twinned roles.
• There are also other issues to take into consideration. The public generally expect healthcare professionals to be vaccinated. Perhaps you may be providing consultation services in a closed consultation area and either risk becoming infected or risk passing the
infection on to your patients and colleges. Another example is co-location where you deal closely with GP practices and other healthcare providers.
• We expect also that many local services will introduce a requirement for pharmacy staff to be vaccinated as a pre-condition to provide the service - much like Hepatitis B vaccinations etc.
